350 heads on a 305?
Can it be done, a set of 350 heads on a 305? I've been told that they flow better so why not put L98's on an LB9? Problems with too much lift and pistons smacking the valves? Thanx

nothing to do with the valves because u can put a 1.94 and 1.60
valves on a 305 the problem is that the chambers are differnet sizes...the 305 is 56cc and the 350 i think is a 64cc??
either way youll loose a lot of compression theyll bolt up but youll loose power.
there are a lot fo smart guys on this board so im probley gonna be corrected but if u angle mill the l98 heads i think theyll work but theres no sense in doing that unless your gonna port them and build some power...cuz your gonna spend $$$ on machene work for no reason

You can loose some compression but you can also gain some power, if you want a good set of heads for that 305 try searching for a set of aluminum L98 Corvette heads, hell the cast iron ones are just as good.
Direct bolt on and you should see an power increase.
The L98 heads are stock 58cc chambers flow at 163cc, 1.94 intake valves, 1.5 exhaust, a good looking bolt on horsepower building accessory.

The stock aluminum l98 vette head is 58cc, the stock iron f-body l98 head is 64cc. The f-body ones suck and the vette ones are overpriced. If you must throw money at your 305 I would buy vortecs and the base, find a cheap BIG nitrous kit and gas it till it blows. Then sell the nitrous kit and build a 350 short block for next to nothing and re-use your heads and base.
