maf vs sd

Well I looked for the answer for this but im asking because I couldn't find a defenite answer. My question is this, obviously speed density is a cheaper system to maintain but what is the advantage of MAF that made GM return to it later? Is it more accurate, does it somehow have advantages over SD? Thanks for the help.

Dude, this same frikin question comes up every week at least. PLEASE use the search option and draw your own opinion. The reason you could not find a definite answer is because nobody is going to agree with each other on what's better. People that already have SD think it's the best and of course people with MAF cars think MAF is the best. Search and read previous posts on it.. there's A LOT of information about this debate.

I personally have a MAF car, and I have a friend that has a 91 Z28 SD. I would rather have the speed density, because his cars' throttle response is a crapload better than mine(All of my sensors are dead on...). But if I did have speed density, it would have to be a DFI system like the Accell, because I will be damned if I had to program a chip everytime I installed a major component.

Snake oil

Theres way to many variables to even remotely consider that to be any kind of difinitive answer.

Gm didn't go "BACK to maf" they reintroduced it, however there is also a MAP sensor in the vehicles as well (if we're talking fbody) and the mafs are far far improved over what the thirdgen mafs could ever be.

Both have pluses, and its very true that this comes up every week, consider this tough love on giving you a crash course with the search feature.
