Maybe..................if you did do it youd be one of the first to try it on a 305. The general concensus is that the LT-1/HSR is just to much for a 305. Try it and see, if it doesnt work out I'll buy it off ya for the 355 I'm building.

What was the size of that Caprice or whatever "mini LT1" motor that GM put out? I think it was like a 4.something liter V8 with a LT1 intake and small port iron LT1 heads I believe. It made like 2xx something hp and performed decently, surely a decent 305 could benifit from the same intake or the HSR??? I think you should give one of the two intakes a shot. I've wondered if my Bro shouldn't try a HSR on my old IROC. I think if I still had it I'd try it...

Very good point.

On my basically stock L98, I just swapped to a Miniram with some mildly ported Aluminum L98 heads. I am still running the stock cam for now. I didn't loose any torque below 2,500 rpm and the engine pulls MUCH HARDER after 4,000 rpm to 5,500 rpm.

For $400, a modified LT1 intake is the best bang for the buck intake there is. If I hadn't bought my Miniram earlier, I would have gone LT1.

Add a cam, and I think you will have a very nice performing 305. I know one buddy that plans to install a LT1 intake on a basically stock 305 just to see how it performs.

I always thought the worst thing about a 305 was its restrictive intake and exhaust. From the intake to the heads and exhaust system. I'd guess your engine would respond pretty well to that intake but it would probably do better with a good cam. With a good set of headers and exhaust system and maybe a set of l98 heads I think you'd have a great combo.

Let us know how it turns out. If you could get some before and after dyno or strip results that would be great! I was thinking of doing this to my 305 but like I said very few people have actually done it yet.
