Best Fuel Pressure For This 305
Best Fuel Pressure For This 305
I have a 85 TPI 305 LB9, 48 mm throttle body, 50,000 actual with the following mods: ported plenum, runners matched, gutted air boxes, K&N's, cold / forced air, MAF screens & fins removed , air foil, throttle body coolant by-pass ,170* t-stadt, cooling fan on toggle switch, stock TPI exhaust manifolds, gutted cat, Dynomax cat-back, timing 10*, 92 octane, 3:42 posi, 700R4 with Corvette servo, etc. Nothing radical, but the car runs well. Soon I will have a adjustable fuel pressure regulator. On a set-up like this, what has anyone found to be the optimum fuel pressure setting using the stock GM chip? Currently, stock pressure is 44 lbs. Short of a dyno, what is a good way to go about arriving at the optimum setting? Any input from anyone who has played with fuel pressure settings on a stock 305 LB9 or 350 L98 would be welcome, since my friend is also putting a AFPR on his L98. Thanks in advance!
P.S. Don't let the signature/user name throw ya, it refers to my son and his car.
