305 TPI knock sensor issues

i am trying to change my knock sensor in my 85 IROC with a 305 tuned port motor and i found the knock sensor on the driver side of the motor, but no plug for it on that side so i decieded to look on the pass side and there, clipped to the block with a plastic clip was the plug for the knock sensor. the wire goes into a harness with wire loom just under the alternator. the wire is nowhere near long enough to reach the other side. whats up with that? please help

well, you can splice into the wires to make them long enough to reach the other side

just don't do a half a$$ed job and you'll be good.

Try to get the same color wire from an electrical shop.
