Is there any advantage to a 255 lph in-tank fuel pump?

I'm curious to know if there's an advantage in installing a 255lph in-tank pump rather than a stock replacement pump. Really the flow is ultimately restricted by the regulator, right? I have an adjustable one on my 90 Iroc 305 5 speed. This weekend I hope we'll get a pump in. I just don't know if I should get a stock replacement or a performance aftermarket piece. The only mods I have that would partly play into needing more fuel is the unrestricted exhaust (gutted cats) and Ed-wright chip. Everything else is just basic bolt-on stuff. I'd post my mods, but it's a really really long list. Thanks for any help you can lend!

Since it is a PITA to install the in tank pump, I would put one in that will fulfill your future needs as well as your present. The regulator restricts the flow AFTER it feeds the injectors.

The stock replacement Carter pump has a shut off of 50 psi, so I can't really crank up the pressure with my AFPR can I? What psi should I run with my 305?

The pressure that it runs best at, usually from 45-50 psi, every engine is different. I know a guy that runs best at 38 psi, so never know until you test.
