What else could i buy for my TPI in search of 13 secound 1/4 mile times. I am looking to spend to more than a couple hundred dollars. I cant afford heads or a full intake so what do you recomend? I have yet to install my headers so i hope that helps my time some.

i'd have to say siamesing the intake manifold and a better cam should be the best bet to pickup some time and the rest in prom tuning equipment. do a search on intake siamesing and you will find info.

After siamesing mine I'm going to put in a recommendation not to. Hog it out as much as you can and widen it up, but siamesing doesn't help a TPI engine in the places they thrive.

ED seems to feel there is some potential there. the problem is it moves where the L98 makes its power so dont look for it at 4600-4800 but higher and a cam that moves the rpms up will help as well. its going to take tuning and track or dyno time to find what is best.

i personally may or may not hog and siamese an extra intake i have but really i just want to boost the power where i have it now and maybe an extra 500 rpm, i plan to shift at 5500 anyway.

Potential in hp, but what about tq?

What is it your car needs most, and what is going to lower your et.

Is down 30 tq and up 10hp a fair trade?

Now if we weren't talking about a virtually stock engine I could see some situations where that siamesing was a desperate need.. but in this kind of scenerio I'm going to stand on recommending against it.

i completely understand and i agree i wouldnt want to lose tq just to gain maybe 10hp either. i will wait and see how ED's turns out, he's running it on a 305 and lost some ET down the 1/4 but feels there is potential in it to run better then before.

personally i want to see it, ed is will to put in the time to tune it so it should workout that he can gain some mph. on a 350 it should be even better. but me personally i'm a street cruiser with rare trips to the track so the max 1/4 time is not as important as some good tq across the board.
