Is that already assembled?

It's not a bad price. If you want to make some power, I'd stay away from those heads though.

Any decent local machine shop in your area should be able to put together the same package for about the same cash.

For $1995 you can get a NEW ZZ4 shortblock assembled from GM. $1595 for questionable quality parts & no assembly doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

The ZZ4 comes with hypereutectics. Those are good to around 400-450 hp. I wouldn't really consider them for forced induction though.

They will hold up fine with a supercharger/turbo, so long as you don't get crazy with the boost, I wouldn't go over 10psi.

These guys sell it for $1886.00, I would figure shipping on top of that.

Just my opinion, but you guys are confusing new with 'better', and that's not always the case.

If he wants to put a blower on the motor, you'd have to buy the zz4 shortblock and change pistons to some forged ones. The gm steel crank is overpriced for the strength it offers compared to the steel $200 scat or eagle cranks.

Just my $.02. You could put together a stonger motor for the same price or cheaper by buying the right used parts, block, crank, rods, etc. than the zz4 shortblock, and putting it together yourself or pay the machine shop $250 to assemble it.

It's your money.
