Cts???

What is the sensor on the left head with the green wire? Is this the CTS? I found that the wire has been sitting on the header and thoroughly melted the plastic covering, and also baked away some of the insulation off the wire. What would happen in this case - ie. what kind of driveablilty issues (if any) would I see? There are NO CODES.

Thats the coolant guage sensor. The CTS for the ECM is on the intake manifold.

OK. Now, I can't see it, but if this wire got toasted would it screw anything up, other than the guage readout?

no, but i wouldn't let it get burnt to the header or ground out too much. I'd venture that could hurt the guage if it happened enough.
