why is painless tpi harness refered to as painful?
hi,i just bought a painless tpi harness for my 87 transam since the old one was all old and falling apart in many posts i have noticed many people refering to the harness as painful why is that is it because it dosent have that15 ip connector to join on to the original cars wiring if anyone has installed the painless wiring what modifications will you have to perform to get it to work?
i just put it in the car, plugged in all the sensors, and plugged it into the ECM and started up the car, i dont know what the big deal is. maybe some people expect it to jump out of the box and put itself on the car

From what i have heard about the harness, it is good and mainly easy to deal with. But the harness is mainly for street rod applications. So it might be missing on the harness things such as air conditioning and a few other options you might have on a normal car. That's just what i have observed about them.
air condition isnt on the engine harnes so i didnt have to touch it. another plus about painless is that all of the connectors are labeled, so you know what sensor each one goes into, i do agree tho, they are mainly made for street rod app. they can be a little short, i cut a hole in my firewall with a holesaw and it fit good.
painless (pain in theass) harnesses are nice and easy to install but from my experience all the wires were just balled up and thrown in the box creating a big tangled mess (took 2 days to untangle) other than that it was easy
