I have been reading up about removing the A.I.R. system from my car. The performance gains are non existant but from what I've read the engine compartement gets a lot cleaner and easier to work on.

I would love to see a 3rd gen Firebird, preferably an L98 with AC and the A.I.R. system removed so I can compare to my engine compartment...that way I can decide whether I want to remove it.

Anyone willing to help by uploading or emailing a pic?

1 question...is it because you have Speed Density that you can put the air filter straight on the TB?

 

That's what it takes. The down side is that the intake air tends to be a little on the warm side of the radiator.

 

yep. and because of the warm air i lost 1/10th and 2 mph at the track. Not a big deal to me at my current traps.
