383 or 400
383 or 400
ok im thinking of building an engine with some ***** , and i mean *****. But i dont have a lot of cash. My question is this: Should i go with a 383 or a 400. let me show you my pros and cons of each (correct me if im wrong) I want to keep it FI
383:
pros:
1) Since i want a roller cam, it would be easy to find a roller cam block.
2) Would be a great performer with lots of torque
3) would be able to have a knock sensor
cons:
1) smaller than a 400
2) would be more expensive
400:
pros:
1) its BIG
2) nothing cooler than saying "yeah i got a 400"
3) would make better power
cons:
1) has no place for knock sensor
2) non roller cam
Also i would like to keep Fuel Injection, would the SR be a good choice for either of these engines.... I like that its cheap

No cash and want a motor that has *****! lol
Anyhow, you can still do a fast car for cheap. I believe on the 406 you can still use a knock sensor. It'll just not be calibrated to the engine but I have a hunch it will save you from the big detonation probs.
The SR? The superram? You like it cause it is cheap? I say do a bit more research and then ask more questions.
