Won't idle after warmup

Hey guys,
I'm having issues with idle after warmup. I think it's when my engine goes into closed loop. It'll idle just fine for 3-4 minutes and then all of a sudden the idle will get really rough and then die. It sounds like it's either getting too much air or not enough. I adjusted the timing and then the idle speed and then adjusted the TPS as well. It ran like a champ then chug chug and then it died..
Anyone have any idea? Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. someone said the knock sensor could be too tight.. how tight should it be?

I doubt it's your knock sensor. If that was bad/too tight you'd just be getting knock retard.

Have you changed your oxygen sensor recently? Does the car burn a lot of oil, get bad gas mileage? Anything else wrong? Will it start after it dies? Any engine codes?

Nope.. no codes.. I got 12 12 12, 12 12 12..

I just changed my O2 sensor.. I thought that was the problem but the new O2 sensor is behaving similiar to the old O2 sensor (just by looking at my A/F gauge).

I just put in a rebuilt engine so it's still kind of in break-in. I can't drive it around much cause it won't idle properly.. It seems to be getting average gas mileage but again, I can't tell because I haven't driven it around much.. The engine will start but it doesn't want to stay running..

Any help would be great.. Thanks.

Okay, so I pulled the plenum and checked the resistance on the EGR temp sensor and it showed an open circuit, then when I removed it to test it, the sensor unscrewed from the ceramic insulator and well.. it's no longer.. Could that be causing my idle problem? It looks like not only did the sensor blow up but the wire broke at the end of the sensor (eventhough the insulation was intact).

Thanks in advance,

-Bruce
