well it's time for some more power and i'm at a lost as to what the smartest thing to do is.
i would like to rebuild my stock engine to a 4 bolt 383 with all the goodies; add a d1sc twin intercooler setup and keep my nos for the intercoolers... of course accomodate the trans and rear to hold as well.
now my problem is to do all of this i'm looking at roughly 7 grand for the 383 and around 4 for the procharger unless i buy a used one. that's quite a bit of change; but it will put me over my 600 rwhp that i want.
now here is an alternative i've been trying to decide on....
ls1 transplants are becoming cheaper all the time and it's proven power at a lot less price than a rebuild. i've found an LS6 that i could get the complete longblock, computer, harness, etc. for 2500. and i figured i could throw a d1sc on that and call it a day for alot less. even cheaper if i could find an ls1.
i would like to keep my stock engine type setup; but changing over is just so much cheaper.....
what would you guys do?

I don't think your going to his 600 RWHP w/ a blown LS6.
For that matter, I don't think your going to hit 600 RWHP w/ a blown 383 that you could build for 7 G's.
Thats a LOT of power, You need to make a LOT of boost to get Up there.

no, i wasn't planning on the LS6 making that much.....but at least in the 450-500 range.
475 at the rear with the sb alone....d1sc with twin intercoolers and some 14-16 lbs of nice boost as well as n20 to add even more dense cool air..........you don't think 600 is possible??
are you saying that 7 is cheap then for the small block 383....
