VERY KNOWLEDGABLE people HELP, all problems explained in the POST!!!!!!

Ok I want to explain my problem and see who has any ideas:

First, yesterday whenever it went into closed loop it would RUN HORRIBLE, then we realized somehow (dont ask, Im worn out) the IAT wasnt plugged back in. Put that back in this morning, and it could hold an idle. Took it out on the road, around 2 blocks, if you would get on it at all, its like it would stumble some times, others it would be great.

We have to get another knock sensor today, so actually there isnt even one hooked up. Could that be causing it.

Timing is set. SES light isnt on anymore, Whenever the coolant temp sensor is plugged in, the fans dont kick on, We didnt put the A/C back in the car and I think the issue with jumping the one plug is why the fans arent coming on, so Im not worried about that.

ABOUT THE SMOKING ISSUE: Start it up, let it sit, let it idle as long as you want its perfect. Sounds great, will idle fine. Rev it and thats when the smoke begins, it comes out the breather, valve cover gaskets, and PCV if its taken out of the socket. It smokes alot to, but it is exhaust, not oil or coolant.

Until you have a good knock sensor and CTS, you don't know anything. All of your problems are summed up in your casual treatment of these 2 very important sensors. If the fans never come on with the CTS pluggged in, even when you know it's hot enough top rurn them on, that means the CTS isn't telling the computer you are hot, which means anything else it says is a lie too.

As for the smoke, depends on how serious it is. If you're running a new engine with no IAT, bad CTS and a knock sensor hooked up it's entirely possible that you've already washed down the cylinder walls with fuel and ruined the engine. Or random chance could have bit you and ring end gaps may have lined up on you. Or it could be normal if it isn't too severe.

I think whal I'll do in the morning, even though all are new, is put in a new thermostat, IAT, Knock, CTS sensor.

I had my stuff at a shop for a while and it was just sitting there, when I got it back my Remote T-stat housing was put together with thermostat and all in it.

I know the car got up to high enough temps to kick the fans on, Could the T-stat not be opening, or put in backwards.

you have an LT1 intake, did you take precaution that the egr passage in the cylinder heads are blocked off? I remember seeing something in a post about the port open, and dumping exhaust into the crankcase, its worth checking. The smoke is white in color? That could be a coolant leak into the combustion chamber. Its hard to decipher without seeing the type of smoking you're talking about. Hope that helps.

Hmmmm, that's right, great thinking. DEFINITELY worth thinking about, and if the answer is you're not sure, then i'd be pulling the intake off ASAP..

As for haphazardly replacing sensors, i wouldn't really go that far. If i were you i'd beg, borrow or steal a scan tool to get a better idea of what is happening. Although it does sound like the CTS is bad if it's never kicking the fans on (assuming the relay and wiring are otherwise OK)

Yep, the LT1 intake has no EGR passages. In fact, that area of
the intake does not cover the lower portion of the EGR passage
on the head and if you dont use gaskets with EGR blockoff plates
or gaskets with no EGR ports, you will be dumping exhaust into
your engine at all times.
