If you don't mind my asking, how much did that cost? The reason I ask is, I just don't have the time with school and everything, and my dad's schedule is tight too. I asked a guy I know who works at a Saturn dealership about what it would cost and he told me he'd do it on the side. He's going to call with more info. What do you guys think?

He said he'd do my shocks and lowering springs too. So hopefully it'll turn out all right, I'll just have to see what he wants for the job. Thanks for the comparo though!
haha I was a idiot when I bought my car. I had them do a comp check to see what was wrong with my car. They charged me 90 for that and it was a bad fuel pump. With everything it was $420!!! I know its crazy but I didnt know how to do anything at the time.

I also had mine changed 2 years ago and it cost about $400 or a little less. But at that time I didnt have the space to do it but now I am kicking myself for paying that.

I just installed a syclone pump in my 87. Filled it up with gas, and has a huge leak from the top of the tank. I put the new o-ring that came with the pump in when I changed the pump. It was identical to the one I pulled out, and the one I pulled wasn't leaking. Since there is no other place the fuel could be leaking (not coming from the filler neck) I went to chevy and got a new o-ring. The one they gave me was not really an o-ring at all. It's more of an oval, and has a steel core to it, and three locating tangs. Cost me $9.35. Part# 22515965. If you change your fuel pump, spend the extra $10 to get this gasket. I'm having to pull my tank again tomorrow to put a $10 gasket in. Sucks big time.

I think the Chiltons Labor Time Guide lists the 82-92 pump at around 4- 4.5 hours of labor. Throw in 1.0 hr for diagnosis and you're at about $360-$400 for labor alone.
Then the pump, dampner, and strainer run about $150......
