Plenty of people have successfully run knock sensors on engines with gear drives. Notables include moderators Wille and Madmax, and i think Tim Burgess too for some reason.

Well like Ed said, I'm using one. No false knock problems. I am beginning to think the engine is filled with leprechauns(based on other bad things I shouldnt have done), but other people (like Willie) also are running the same gear drive without problems. Pete Jackson 'Quiet' drive.

I have to ask... what do you want to run a gear drive for?
