Difference in the different L98 heads

I know there are two sets of L98 heads that came from the factory and one is better than the rest. I was just wondering what makes the 083's any better than the 197's (i think it's 197 ). Thanx

Well the Vette heads are aluminum(before mentioned) so they are lighter than the heads featured in the F-bodys since they are cast iron. I would also believe they might wear faster than the iron heads because they are made of a lighter less durable material. When I get my Camaro I am going to get a set of L98 heads(hopefully Vette) and then port and polish them.

there are also two different cast iron heads for the L98, one of then has ports that flow directly into the guide boss and then down the valve. The other set has an incline that brings the air around the guide boss and the swirls over the valves. I am not sure which is better, I think the swirl type came off the trucks. KI have the ones that go directly past the boss, but I have a set of the swirl type sitting in my garage.
