Should I be able to feel the injector firing?

When I was troubleshooting my false lean condition, I was examining the fuel injectors. I was able to 'feel' 7 injectors clicking when I touched them but #4 I could not. Should I assume that the injector is bad? The injectors are Accel and replaced 8k ago. Plus, my new motor is scheduled to go in next week, would it be a bad idea to run it if the injector is bad?

if the injector is not firing, it would be a bad idea to run the engine, a lean mixture is very dangerous, and could cost alot of money. what i would do is hook up a noid light to that #4 injector you said you dont think was firing, and see if its actually getting power to it, if not, then theres a short somewhere along the way, if so, its prolly a bad injector, or the plug is some how corroded and not making a connection....

Try tapping the injector "lightly" with a wrench a few times and try to feel it again. You can feel a slight tick like you said of the others. This worked for me when I had 2 cyl. misfiring. This can happen when the car has sat for awhile or the injectors have been cleaned recently. Sounds like a sticky injector. Hope this helps ya???

I used a long screwdriver as a stethascope(sp?) and I could hear it clicking then, so it is firing. I wonder why I can't feel that one tho.

If it is sticking you need to give it a good little tap a few times to try to losen it up.

after I dropped the LT1 in my car I couldnt get it to start, after trying many different things I soaked the injectors in valvoline synpower carb & choke cleaner, after doing that it started and ran fine. (just a thought)
