86 T/A and MAF
Hey this is my first post and I am sure to create a heated discusison over SD and MAF, which I don't want to do. Here is my situation
1986 T/A with 305 TPI. The intake, injectors, and TPI are all 350.
I can't seem to keep a MAF in the car. It burns outs extremely quickly. I get no codes until it is gone.
I have tried putting resistors and diodes in line hoping to stop the MAF frying, but as the ohms are so low and a butt connector has 4 ohms of resistance, you see my problem.
Is there anything I can do to keep the MAF from burning out? Should I change to SD. I don[t plan on making any more engine modifications, and besides the 5.7 TPI she is stock.

You have a wiring problem, or the ECM is bad.
My '86 IROC-Z is in the shop for the MAF & burn-off circuit to be rewired. Since the wires were shorted out to the chassis, it damaged my ECM also- so I had to buy a new ECM.
