gas smell from charcoal canister area
there is a strong smell of fuel by the charcoal canister. there is
fuel in the line coming from the gas tank to the canister. this smell just started today. what could be wrong here? the "tank pressure valve" gone bad? can i assume the charcoal canister is screwed? thanks a million guys.
note: the picture depicts a 90-92 setup. my 88' has the exact same charcoal canister setup.

gas is spewing from the line that come froms the tank. that's why i'm concerned. 87+ models have a sealed charcoal canister. you can't just replace the filter . you have the replace the whole thing
. thanks again

no problem could be found. whenever i disconnected any one of the hoses, including the ventilator line, while the engine is running fuel drips from all of the lines at once
. i don't get it. maybe the fuel pump running really hot. they were excessive vapors spewing from every open orifice. liquid fuel began to accumulate at the filler neck, the vent line and the ventilator line.
i don't what the hell is wrong with this thing. i said screw it and let gas fill the damn canister.
maybe i'm getting excessive fuel return to the tank?

well a buddy of mine has an 87 GTA and dont ask me why, but when he shuts his car off when the motor is hot, you can hear this bubbling or rumbling sound from teh charcoal canister. when i take the fuel cap off, pressure rushes out the rumbling stops, but when i put it back on, it starts again after a min or two. i thought maybe his exhaust it runnin too close to one of his fuel lines and vaporizing his fuel(kinda like when you leave a fuel can out in the sun on a warm day) but he has stock manifolds and Y pipe, and has a flowmaster cat back. i am not sure if his exhaust is heating his tank up or not. my IROC with similar exhaust and headers doesnt do it, nor does my other friends IROC with a hooker cat back. i have no idea why his GTA does that, but i believe somewhere the fuel is getting super heated and trying to vaporize. i know that sounds a little far fetched and ignorant, but i have no idea what else it could be
