I have this nasty oil leak coming from my engine and it is leaking onto the Y Pipe and burning it every time a drop falls...it also leaves like four big puddles under the car like this

right under the oil pan and I don't know what it could be....it seems like it is coming from the back of the engine....AARON

Could be alot of things. The oil pressure sending unit could be leaking, the back of the intake manifold could be leaking, the distributer gasket could be leaking, rear main seal could be leaking, etc...

You'll probably have to dig a little deeper to find out what it could be.

It should be a long cylinder looking device above the oil filter. Does your gauge show no oil pressure at idle?

When my sender was leaking i showed no oil pressure at idle, but yet my engine made no noise or siezed!

Well, depending on the year will determine where the sending unit is. On a '92, it will be above the oil filter. On the '88, it still should be behind the intake manifold. There should be two on the '88. A very small two-wire sensor for the fuel pump and a very large one-wire which is the sending unit. I know when my sending unit went bad, the gauge went crazy and spewed oil everywhere. Since you mention the guage, it sounds like that is the culprit.

Will be a short fat assembly screwed into a small boss directly behind the distributor. Looks very much like the temp sensors in the sides of the heads. Also check valve cover gaskets.

Check for a clogged vent tube on the passenger side valve cover and check for a clogged PCV valve. Internal engine pressure may be building and pushing the oil out due to one these being clogged not allowing the engine to breathe.
