sticky throttle
hey guys,
i replaced my throttle body on my 1988 GTA with 305/5.0L TPI in 2001. it was a stock 52mm throttle body. ever since i had the shop put it in it has been sticking in the closed position every so often and i have to tap my foot on the gas pedal to unstick it. sometimes it's harder to unstick then other times. it's not one of those fancy BBk or edelbrock ones, it's the stock TB from GM. i've had it inspected and cleaned numerous times and still nothing. has anything like this happened to you guys? if so, what did you do?
as always, all who contribute important info on curing my problem will be treated like GODS :hail:

P.S. i told my brother (from whom i bought the car from) that it was doing this and that i wanted to get another one and he said i should wait and see if it "wears in". needless to say, it didn't

the shaft the blades are on wears out the bushings at the ends. I believe you can just rebush the TB. The fact that it's been doing this from the get-go means you need to repair it or install a decent one that isn't worn.
I think stock TB is 48mm, too.
