slp runner polishing...
I was looking at my SLP runners today and was comparing them to the stock runners and noticed something. The inside of the stock ones are completely smooth on the inside, however the casting of the SLP's causes the insides to be noticeably rough. Has anyone ever sanded/polished the insides smooth. I've got the tops and bottom done, only i cant seem to get anything to reach up into or around the curves in the runners. I know there may be no noticable difference in smoothing it out, but hey, it's less resitiction right? Do you guys feel it's a complete waste of time. Also, any suggestions on how to reach up in there to finish the job. thanks for any help

well, some say that you should leave it rough. it helps to keep the fuel and air mixed. the fuel gets introduced at the injectors- down stream from the runners.i polished mine and saimesed them as far into the runners as i could reach with my die grinder. i also ported the plenum and port matched the runners to match.i got a good deal on an edelbrock base plate so i ported and port matched that too! my advice is open it up if you can! the slp runners leave alot to be desired as far as casting flash an imperfections go. use your best judgement and go for it!

well, none yet. i do track test at the local strip. (island dragway) i'm in the middle of the swap now and am not just doing the intake. i have slp headers and a zz4 cam. and if i find heads in time i will do them too. so i wount be able to measure the intake gains alone
