Removed Fac. Oil Cooler, How do I mount Filter to block?

I got the 2 steel tubes gone and I need to remove the sandwich piece now. what exactly do I do and what do I need to atach filter to the block. Thanks I've looked in the search but just found rough answers

you need the piece that bolts to the block to accept the filter. Try going to a machine shop, they probably have these sitting around. THe bolts are shorter also so get those

They were getting in the way of my Long Tubes and also the lines were starting to rust out, and also with my old headers the heat from them would make the rubber hose right by the cooler harden and crack causing leaks.

Its been a while, but it seems to me you just need to remove the old bolts and replace them with new ones that dont stick out so far. IIRC, the adapter is already there.
