a few TPI questions

Ok I have a few simple TPI questions.

1# is a aftermarket high flow MAF really worth it, $300 is alot of money

2# what is a MAF relay? I know where it is, I changed mine and it fixed the problem I was having but, what does it do?

3# differences in the 48mm throttle body (stock one right?) and 52mm and 58mm.
if I want to get a stealth ram in the future then can the 58mm I buy now (or should i get a 52mm?) for my TPI, fit on my stealth ram?

4# if I get a larger throttle body then do I need to change out my air filter assembly?

thanks

All new MAF's cost about the same, unless I needed one I wouldn't replace the one I have.

The MAF uses 2 relays, one is for power to the MAF and the other is for the burn off function, this heats up the wire (on shut down) for a few ms to burn off any thing that may have stuck to it during operation.

The size of throttle body needed is dependant on the air requirements of your engine. Unless you plan on building 383 or a very potent 350, the stock TB will work just fine.

4# if I get a larger throttle body then do I need to change out my air filter assembly?
Nope, its all in the bore of the TB not the outward size of the unit.
