HELP - car stumbling at highway speeds
Hi, my car will be cruising down the highway at about 2500 RPM and all the sudden it will completely cut out, or stumble for a second then return to normal. IT usually does this about 1 minute after I get up to speed, and then goes away. It's like the engine suddleny dies, then surges back to life. I checked my TPS voltage and it's ok so I think it might be the MAF. Any ideas?
Also, it sometimes surges at stoplights. I'll be sitting there with my foot on the brake and it will start lurching like it wants to take off anyway. It's like I'm pumping the gas pedal but I"m not. It sounds like I have a huge lopey cam or something...

Just an update: I did the MAF "tap" test while the engine was running and there was no change at all in the idle so that looks ok.
Also I took off the whole throttle body and used a whole can of Throttle cleaner on it cleaning out all the passages and into the IAC hole.
At this point in time I think it's the IAC, but if anyone has encountered this before or has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me crazy and I just want my good ol' TPI back...
Is there any way to test the IAC before just replacing it?

whenifirst got my car the wire hooked up to the MAF was disconnected. but my egition was running abosultly fine, it still pulled hard, sounded more than healthy and is idling smooth like it rolled off the showroom.
i highly doubt it is your MAF, readjust your tps and see if that is it, your tps can be still in good working order but if it is out of spec, it will not do any good.
