Well, the fuel pump has to come out... and i got about 40 bucks to my name, so it looks like i gotta do it myself. *sighs* I know i gotta unbolt the exhaust.. no biggy, but it doesnt look like i have to completely unbolt the rear end.. just a couple bars are blockin the tank from what i can see, can anyone gimmie some feedback on whether i can get away with just unboltin exhaust and the two bars i see ?

 

You have to unbolt the track bar and brace as well as the sway bar. At that point you can raise the car and let the rear end sit on the ground, giving you room to remove the tank. Be aware that the rubber brake line is only so long. It's possible to stretch and/or break it if you exceed it's limit. You can give yourself more slack without disconnecting the line (therefore having to bleed the brakes) by unhooking the hardline brackets.

You'll also have to drop the exhaust, remove the heat shields, and drain the tank.

 

I'm doing this one the ground with Jack stands and a floor jack by the way. So will i be able to do it all ?

 

I did mine in the driveway with jackstands and a floor jack so yes it is possible. Fun no. Easy no. Possible yes. Good luck

You should be able to pull it off in anywhere from 3 to 6 hours depending on how much you screw around and what kind of complications you run into.
