Adjusting IAC

I am suppose to jump a and b then take off connetor. How am i suppose to jump a and b while it is still connected. Also am i supposed to adjust the IAC in drive and/or at a certain temp?

You jumper the ALDL to put it into diagnostic mode for 10 seconds, then unplug the IAC. Adjust the idle speed in Park/Neutral.

It's the diagnostic terminal near the fuse box.
