89 Z28 w/ 118000 miles...worth it?

As for my 91 RS 305 TBI, totalled, drunk drive had a destiny with my passenger side in an intersection, anyway. Looking at a 89 IROC-Z 350 TPI with 118000 miles on it, the rear main seal is bad, but that i can fix, but is it worth it to buy this car? will i run into big problems down the road? and with my T5 trans work without messing up, or do i need to do something too it so i wont ruin it.(before any one says anything, i know there is an engine category, but i felt i would get better answers from the people who own TPI's) thanks for any info

Is it worth it? It depends how much the guy wants. It is an L98 IROC-Z, and an '89 which is a desirable year. Thats not a bad number of miles, and if the rest of the car is sound, for the right price it would be worth it. Maybe 2500, something in that neighborhood. Other than that, if the engine has been taken care of and the rest of the car hasn't been tinkered, there shouldn't be any immediate problems down the road. The only concern item I can think of is the tranny.

The guy wants 2200 for it, and it has t-tops with an aftermarket face off cd player in it, and some damage done to the pass rear but its not too bad, but the guy needs a trans for his other camaro and i said if i can get my trans to hook up to the iroc i would give him the trans out of the car he sells me and the seats out of my 91, cause he needed seats as well., but then i would give him 1800. but what kinda problems might i face with my trans from my 91? it only has 58000 miles on it, and it is still strong, but is it the torque that may damage it? but is that still a good deal??

Its not a bad deal, but just pay cash for the car and keep your parts. You will get more for them than hes willing to take off the price of the car.

I think you could take both cars and make a really nice one out of them then sell off the leftovers and re-coup some of your loot.
