How much is a 305 TPI+ECM+700R4 tranny worth

I was just wondering what a 305 TPI (LB9) out of my 86 trans am coupled with the ecm and still attached to the 700r4 tranny with all wiring and sensors together as one whole piece would be worth and anyone interested could make an offer

Unless it's still in the car and driveable, what you have there is a boat anchor, a $50 tranny core, and a TPI setup that you could get $300 or so for. There is just no value in a 17 year old 305, or a used tranny that you can't test drive (thus you have to assume it's fubar)

How about you post your location? Delivery kills a lot of these drivetrain sales because freight charges are so expensive unless you get a frequent shipper's discount.

Finding someone with the same engine/trans combo wanting to rebuild could eliminate some serious down time with what you have there. At least, I'd say $350, at most around $500-ish...

it is still in the car with 100k miles(really low for an 86) on it running strong, with no problems at all. How would that change the boat anchor value...

With 100k on it, running strong or not it's still just a core. Maybe if you were REALLY lucky you could find somebody looking to keep a daily driver on the road who would give you 1 or 2 hundred. The only thing more worthless than a 305 is a high mileage 305.

The in the car part is most important for the trans. If i could drive a trans and feel that it seemed OK, and if the fluid looked good then it would still hold some value as a driveable trans, and thus might be worth a couple hundred. If the buyer can't even drive it though, only an idiot would not assume it was dead no matter what the seller said. Just the way used parts work, buyer beware.
