EGR valve problem...
EGR valve problem...
my 87 IROC with a 350 TPI has been making a whistling noise at idle and i am told that it is the EGR valve. i bought the part and was wondering if anyone could tell me where the EGR valve is located on my type of engine?

Welcome aboard, I have the same car as you!
Your egr valve is the big thing under your plenum bolted to your intake manifold base. It has a vaccuum line going to it and a single wire conector.
It won't be hard to change at all. I would recomend going with a GM part on this one. it's more expensive, but this isn't where you want to skimp on parts.
This pick shows my engine with the plenum off and with an arrow pointing to the EGR valve(it's kinda hard to see, but you'll get the general idea).
(pardon the mess, I was in the process of swaping engines)
Good Luck!
