my 87 T/A

You can all slap me for this, BUT I want to know if I just got lucky in finding this car, or if I was just mistaken on my T/A knowlege.
I've been looking everywhere for an 87 or 89 Trans Am. I found one in beyond excellent condition and bought it. It is a 1987 Tran Am(not GTA) 305 TPI w/ LT1 package. Anyway, when I was under the car at the owner's house, I noticed it had POSI. The guy has done nothing to the car, everything is stock. Then, as I was looking under the hood, I saw it had mass air. I could have sworn that in 87 they stopped putting mass air in T/As. It has no digital dash either(thank ***, i hate them).Instead of giving more details, I'll just say it is the best of 86 and 87 in one car. I was confused so I looked up the birthday. January 1987. Am I just an idiot or was this car custom ordered in 87?

I don't know what "LT1 Package" you are refering too, since the LT1 wasn't re-introduced as an engine until 1993.

Posi is nothing unusual to see.

Digital dashes are actually kinda rare.

The F-body didn't shed the Mass Air Flow sensor untill 1990.

Look for your RPO codes in the center consule. Look for the codes 1LE, G92, and WS6 and look and see if there is any that say LT1. No were abouts are you in Illinos? YOu can run all your RPO's here on this sit or Ask and I'll email you a list I got from Vader I do belive. If they are not in the center look in the locking side of the back hatch.

Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize what I was typing, it was early and I had LT1 on the brain. I meant 1LE.Sorry. I'll check those code new87, thanx. I thought the car was an unusual T/A for not being a GTA. Guess I was wrong.

you got a 1LE from an 87? better keep that, cause its worth a ton. gotta be one of one made. There was not a 1LE package untill really 89. 88 they werent for the public, but im sure someones got one. but none in 87. Do you have A/C in your car? and yea fbodies no matter what, TA or Camaro both had MAF till 90 when they went to speed density.
