350 powerband questions

Ok, a couple of quick questions for the uninformed (namely me )

I keep reading about the stock TPI choking the engine around 4500rpms......what would port/polishing and/or aftermarket runners/etc move that point to? What's the best setup that people've found?

Don't confuse "choking" and "powerband"

"Choking" is when the engine can't efficiently breathe and power DRAMATICLY falls off.
"Powerband" is simpley where peak power is made.

I have seen cars peak at 4400 RPM and die at 4800. My car peaks at 4100, but I can pull up to 5500.

Anything you can do to increase airflow will help push back the point at which is "chokes". However w/ the "tuned" long tube design, your powerband will usually be low.
