Questions

First does anyone know what base timing is for the TPI cars? I know the book says 0 degrees but I no longer have a TPI timing tab (ie. stright up) I've got the older tab. I don't honestly think it'll be 0 degrees exactly. I do need to know so that my computer advance is not way off. Second what experiences have you guys/gals had with swapping on an LT1 intake. I know Millican does it, I just want to know what issues people have had with it. Both Positive and Negative responces are more than welcome. Please I just don't want to waste money if it's not worth it.

Thanks
Chris

Every TPI car specs at 6' initial timing. L98 and LB9. Every year. But if your timing tab is wrong, that isn't going to do you much good unless you degreee your balancer.

As for LT1 intakes, the topic has been beaten to death really, a search would be more useful than simply asking. Some people love 'em. Some people have nearly ruined there engine due to coolant leaking into the crankcase or other misc problems. IMHO it's not worth the risk to save a few bucks compared to the HSR.

I wonder, does an LT1 conversion cost less than the HSR. I mean you have to buy the manifold and then get it all modified to fit and as stated may be risky.

I figured I'd just ask as to see what people thought. I'm looking For more of the wow factor than anything else. I figure if it works well then why worry. And as a Mechanic by trade I can figure any other issues. besides I got the intake for $100, with a T.B. ao I can't really complain. Oh well whatever.
