Major TPI problems PLEASE HELP ME
I have a 1988 Camaro SC with a 1985 IROC-Z 305 TPI. Last Saturday, I began having some major issues with my TPI setup. Here's what happened Saturday: I was driving on the highway, and my car just basically stalled". It started running really really rough and idled really low. When I tried to give it gas, the engine stalled. So my dad got me home with my car, and we started looking at mechanical failures first, but can't seem to find any. So, we started tackling electronics. We both did some thinking and testing, and came to the conclusion that perhaps the TPS went bad, considering the engine stalled when it was revved (even when we just cracked open the throttle, it died.) So we replaced the TPS, and set it somehwere between .54 and .56 volts like it should be. No change; it still wouldn't rev, and heck it wouldn't even idle. So, just for a shot, I replaced the stock chip running the thing with a Hypertech Thermomaster chip I had for the car. Bam; it would rev, but not idle. We could actually crack open the throttle blades with this chip in the ECM and it wouldn't stall. So, today, my dad opened the throttle adjustment screw on the TB a little bit, and now it idles, sometimes eventually stalls. It also sets a code 34, but I just replaced my MAF. However, when me and my dad were trying to get it to run, my dad just trickled some ether into the MAF but it did nothing. Could the code 34 mean that the MAF was damaged by this? Or, could the fact that I have 87 octane in my car be causing the chip to set a code 34, because the Thermomaster chip needs 92 octane? Also, since the car just died when idling or revving with the GM chip, but not the Hypertech, then could the stock chip be bad?
Thanks for your time, everyone; please give me all the ideas you can think of to fix my car

The stock '85 PROM chip was defective from the factory and should be replaced (if it hasn't been done already). I would also remove the IAC and check it and the housing for carbon build-up.
The fact that the hypertec chip would allow you to rev the engine points to the stock chip, and the fact that moving the idle air screw allows it to idle points to a possible defective IAC or plugged idle air passages.
