EGR valve experts please help
I just took my intake apart and my EGR setup doesn't look right. The EGR is bolted in the manifold like it is supposed to but then the line coming out of it is going into another valve that kind of looks like a smaller EGR valve. The second one is just hanging there, so I don't think this is correct, but I didn't know for sure. Can anyone tell me if this right? It would be great if someone had a picture of their setup, but any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jonathan

I have the same thing on my car. It is supposed to be there. WHen i bought my car, all the egr lines were disconnected. I have a 91 305 tpi. From what I remember, (i haven't looked in a while) there are 2 lines from the egr solenoid, one goes to the vaccume port on the front of the TB. the other goes to the egr valve. There is another port on the egr valve that that hanging piece hooks up to. It almost looks like a vaccume pump. Something is supposed to hook up to the other side of it, as far as I know, but i'm not sure what. I haven't gotten that far and haven't found vaccume diagrams detailed enough to tell me. My friend just got a 92 tpi, hopefully all intact, so i'll be taking a close look at his engine. Hopefully someone else on the board can pick up where i left off.
Hope this is helpful.

Thats wierd that GM would leave that just hanging there (with no bracket) but its good to hear that someone else has this same setup. I guess I will be putting it back together next weekend when all of my parts come in...I will put it just like it was when I took it off since it was running fine before.
Thanks.
Thanks.
