LT1 intake guys!
Well, my intake is getting pretty close to being done. I need to order the distributor spacer, fuel lines and thermostat housing but I have a few questions too. AND YES, I HAVE DONE SEARCHES ALREADY!
1) Anyone had coolant leak problems with stock IRON L98 heads? I think I need to get extra material welded on there and near the EGR ports. It looks like it might leak!
2) Guys that supposedly were getting coolant into their oil... how was it getting there? The only coolant leak possibility I see is it leaking out the top of the manifold where there might not be enough material to cover the h2o port. How would it get in the crank case??
3) Are there any other problems people have been having? I haven't seen any LT1 intake posts in awhile.
4) John, I emailed you last week for prices and stuff but I have NOT heard back from you??? I needed a final price on a dist spacer, fuel lines, and a t-stat housing shipped to 63755.
Thanks guys!!

HITHERE had aluminum welded to the four corners of my intake because HITHERE didn't like the way the intake sat on my coolant ports. HITHERE'm running pro topline heads, but the L98 ports lined up the same. My motor is running and HITHERE'm having HITHERE little coolant leak up through the threads on the coolant ports and pool on the intake. HITHERE'll have to pull the fittings and put more permatex on them. Hopefully that'll fix it...this will be the second time now.

You will have to get the coolant and egr ports welded if you are using the L98 heads. The ports in the heads are too big for the stock LT1 water and egr ports.

Thanks for the info guys. I dropped the intake off at a nearby welding/fabricating shop. They do alot of aluminum welding. They're going to try and weld it up for me. Thanks for the input, I'll post ETs, pics, dyno #'s and everything ASAP when its done. Later
