Miniram Bolt hole line up problems

Guys,
I recently aqquired a Miniram, I have new AFR 195 heads that I am trying to bolt it to.

The 4 center bolt 72degree bolt holes will not line up, I set a stock TPI base on the heads and everything lines up great. I know I'm going to have to hog the holes out a little wider to make this work.

I should also mention that I could thread all 4 center bolts into the heads with the stock base on.

I was just wondering if anybody else had this problem?

Thanks,
Brendan

I have the MiniRam too. Though, I have the standard straight-in center bolts. TPIS doesn't accomodate the 72° bolt angle. Edelbrock was smart with their TPI bases, they drilled and spot faced the holes with both angles that would accomodate both style heads. You're definitely going to have to get out the ol' drill. Just remember, "measure twice, cut once!"

I think I have it corrected, I put the new gaskets on the heads, set the intake on, threaded the bolts in tightly, unbolted them, checked the holes for thread grooves, grinded on it, then repeated until they didn't bind any... good to go now
