map or maf

the map sensor is only on speed density cars right? which is 90 and above? my mechanic spent two hours lookin for it cause the dude at gm dealer gave him a diagram of were its at, but i told him that my car didnt have one. is this right?

Only 1990 -1992 TPI had MAP sensors. 1989 TPI car is MAF. Tell the mechanic that is "his trouble" if he's so stupid that he can't figure out the difference. Better yet, find another mechanic because he obviously doesn't know dick about 3rd Gens.

he dont know dick about thirdgens, but hes a friend of the family and i get **** done dirt cheap, how does $500 for a blown head gasket sound?

Uh, I think $500 for a blown head gasket is about $100 to high If there is no machine work done.
