What's this for?

I just bought this duel snorkel intake off of ebay. Taking a closer look at the picture, I noticed a connection for something on the top right. Does anybody know what plugs in there?
Thanks

I would say that somebody has relocated the MAT(Manifold Air Temperature) sensor.

I checked the auction page again. The intake was described as being taken off of a TPI engine.

the TPI and V6 engines both used the SAME air duct. yes it wil workon your 305 if you have tpi.

Yes, but judging by his screen name, if he has a firebird he will have hood clearance issues.

yea 91, you have a bird dont you? that would not fit in your bird. firebirds do not have the dual snorkle intake.. they have an elbow that gos off to where the battery is on camaros. only camaros came with the "Y" type intake.

Technically speaking .... No. They do not. The V6 duct starts off like the TPI except then it is drilled in the driver's site top corner and brass bushings installed so that the MAT can be installed there. This is an easy way to do a MAT relocation. Find a V6 y-duct.

yea, I have the elbow, but I can take that off, and take the plastic plate off around the hood latch and replace it with the one that came with the intake and it should fit. It looks skinny to clear my hood. If not, that's what the classifides section of this site is for. Has anyone else with a firebird tried this swap?
