Fuel Injector Size Advise
Fuel Injector Size Advise
I have a 355 that puts out 350-370 hp according to my best estimate. I have NOS I will be playing with, and I figure 400-450hp with future mods without NOS. I also plan on doing alot of tunning to my PROM. I am still running the stock injectors with about 120k on them. They are 305 injectors (19lbs/hr) and one of them is an odd ball. Needless to say I am way over due for an injector upgrade. I have used some of the fornulas and calculators I found on line, and they say 31lbs/hr. Here is the problem. I cannot afford a new or even used (at the typical prices) set of injectors, but I have found a set of Accel 36# injectors for $80. My questin is, will these work for my present and future HP estimates? There seems to be 2 different thoughts when it comes to injector size. One says err on the large side so the injectors do not max out and the other says keep it small and turn up the pressure for better atomization and too large of an injector will run rich and cause problems. Has anyone used 36# injectors on a similar engine?
Thanks,

There is a post down below with some charts that should be useful to you.

Thanks, I am thinking I will just go ahead and get them and try them out. If they do not work out for me I can just resell them. I think they would be better than my old clogged (probably) and mismatched injectors.
