No clue man, I am having the exact opposite, I am idling way too high, currently I am idling at 1500 rpms. Only thing I could possibly suggest to you is to check your Idle Air Control Valve and Throttle Position Sensor. This seems to be the trouble with mine. Just spent $40 on a new IAC and it still idles high, suppose it was my TPS gonna see if I can change that out tomorrow, either way I needed the new IAC, when I pulled off the old one is was black as hell from carbon, good luck to you on your problem.

What do you consider low idle? A V-8 in one of these cars will idle anywhere between 500-750 to 1000rpms depending on your configuration.

I have heard of stable and smooth idle at 450rpms.

My car for example is a 1987 Trans-AM 305TPI A4. My car idles at 1000RPMs until warmed up and then idles at 750RPMs.

Well a month ago the car broke down and all they did was adjust the throttle posistion sensor. When it broke down again I checked the sensor and adjusted it to .58 and the highest you should go is .61 Does this sound ok to anyone who is an expert? Basically what I am saying is that the car isn't as fast as it once was before this all started happening about a month ago. It idles real low and stalls every so often. What are the signs of a bad TPS-Thottle posistion sensor? Basically I have payed for 2 $75 diagnostic fees and I don't want to have to pay again. The car runs but not like it should. Thanks for any help given.
