Need help please....
This is pretty much the first problem I've ran into my car.
Alright, here's the deal. The car was randomly shutting off, and in doing so, the ac compressor would cut off, and the power windows wouldn't roll up, while doing so, the volts would instantly drop around 8 or so, and go back to 13. It repeated this several times, sometimes cutting the car off, sometimes only turning the AC off, sometimes nothing but a voltage drop. We assumed it was either a ground or either the belt or something along the belt locking up.
The ground was the best idea, but couldn't find anywhere the ground was loose, everything looks firmly attached and looked good.
So we take the belt off, and spin each pulley. The smog pump pulley was bent, and sounded horrible. We took that off, tried again. A little better, it happened less. But was still happening, but only when the AC was on.
So for the last week, I've been driving the car around without the AC. Not once did I have any problems. As soon as I turn the AC on, it instantly does it again.
So at this point, I assume the AC compressor is bad, and it's locking down and causing a voltage drop. (remember, this is the best idea I can come up with), even though you would think it would break the belt.
So today I come home from work, and the power windows wouldn't roll up and the voltage drops begin again. No AC on however. Car idled fine, but severe voltage drops.
Can anyone lead me anything to try? Only that seems to keep it from happening as much is not using the AC compressor.
Please help, hopefully it's not too long as to keep people from reading it.
