Transmission: 5 speed and vette has 700r4
Axle/Gears: 373's in T/A .. vette unknown
est bypass wire 87 trans am

where is this at, I'm thinking its a single tan wire by my a/c box but not sure

Mine is against the firewall on the passenger side near the blower motor.

It's the only single weather pak tan wire sticking out of one of the large wire bundles, so yep, that'd be the one.

also there is a blue wire in this vacinity too, looks almost like it would have a screw go through the wire end and ground you know what this ones for as well

I doubt that it is a ground. If it is a lighter blue wire, it may be from the 4th Gear switch on the transmission or a fusible link from the starter. Both terminate near the firewall, and you really don't want to ground either one.
