Question on Vortec heads and Miniram
As most of you know, The Gm 350 HO Crate has Vortec heads on them and from what I read TPIS makes the miniram to install on them. Just a couple of questions......1) How hard is it to take off existing TPI (w/ Vortec Manifold $400 ) and install the miniram??? 2) Since I have the Vortec manifold already...WOuld it be better for me to port out plenum, buy some TPIS runners and add a 52mm TB????? 3) If I do go with the mini, Can I just buy the intake and plenum and run my existing other accessories??? example: Fastchip, 21 lbs injectors, TPI fuel rails etc etc etc
Thanks Guys
I am going to do something......just trying to figure out which route is better. MONEY IS NO OBJECT....but ease of install IS!!! (being it is my daily driver)

If you did NOT port the TPI Vortec intake or stock TPI plenum you should have that done. The Vortec manifold I got was damn rough and the ports need work. I would add runners and forget about the throttle body, it's not worth anything IMHO on your setup. It seems to me that you like bolt on stuff so this should keep you going stronger. If you want the Miniram you should learn PROM tuning before you switch it out, cause it's going to be a tuning pain.

TPIS does make the miniram for vortec heads...I believe they call it the Miniram III...I would definately recommend it, just make sure you don't leave it at that...plan to do mods that will compliment the Miniram.

I haven't taken my car to the track in oh i'd say about 2 years now. Best I got out of it then is a 13.7 @ 103, but since then I have done everything in my sig and then some. I just got done installing a 6 speed a couple of months ago. I figure the way it sits right now, I should be able to bolt on some drag radials and run 12.8's all day long, it runs really really strong.
