Starts and then dies...

I just put my 87 350 tpi together but it only runs for about 2-3 seconds then dies. The timing is right i took off valve cover to make sure.
NEW harness, maf, distibuter, afpr. I have 42psi fuel and stays there through cranking ,pressure, good spark, injector pulse , car will fire and run only if the ninth injector is plugged in if i unplug the ninth injector it wont fire . i can smell gas but no go .
Also tps is at .57 ,computer also tested in other car

How did you check timing by taking off the valve cover?

both valves closed on compression stoke Isnt this correct?

Car: Only a daily driver, but comin home

Engine: I have one that runs ;)

Transmission: Caged hamster that runs really fast

Axle/Gears: They are round, I know that much

does it take a while for it to catch and start or does it just start? i have the same prob(i gave up and sent it to a mechanic to do it, i just dont have the tools to get it right) but he told me my timing was way off and my MAF was shot, just cause it is new doesnt mean nothing, i found that out the hard way, but timing and MAF i am going with, or maybe a bad TPS or IAC, lots of places to start
