somebody help!

i need some help i bought a new throttle positioning sensor about a week ago everything was fine now all of a sudden its idleing high like 1400 rpm in park i tried everything to get it down adjusted the TPS no luck and everything else no luck anyway i decided to unhook and see what hapeens it idles fine now in park and in drive and it runs great weird huh now i have a SES light on from the sensor not being hooked up what do i do?

I'd recheck teh TPS voltage and span, clear the ECM, and try it agin. Next time the idle gets away from you, see if you're in closed loop or not.

well i did check it i got to .64 volts but it still idles high 1100 but then when i put it in drive and drive it around the idles good 750 in park 650 in drive but now the sensor is facing way up in the air thats what i had to do to get it to be in range now what?

0.64V is still too high. You need to get it down to no more than 0.60V, and 0.54V would be ideal. Is the throttle stop screw turned way in? Have you set the minimum air position lately?

well today i put it on the scanner because i was getting crazy readings when i used the jumper wires. so when i putt it on the scanner the lowest reading i could get and i tried everything was 3.22volts so i assume it is bad right ? thats the second one i should have never changed my original one it worked fine. the scanner said it tps high reading so i assume its 2 bad sensors?

I would be inclined to check my wiring for any shorts. It should only take a few minutes. Two bad sensors in a row is weird. Are they GM sensors? Thats all I use, never had a problem 100,000+ miles and still tickin...

niether one was a gm sensor i think thats the problem one was from advanced auto parts for 38.00 and the other from nappa for 57.00. its weird i drove the car back home with the sensor unhooked and i ran great even feels like it has more power idled fine and everything wierd huh.
