Got TPI Commander 950, some ?'s
Well the motor is sitting on the stand, im busy painting up the plenum and intake and porting and all that good stuff.
Having problems finding 14MM - 3/8 NTP fitting, and 14MM - 8AN fittings for the fuel plumbing. anyone have ideas there?
The motor is sitting on a stand, im guessing i should install the TPI and the harness and sensors while its out of the car right? any forseeable problems there?
As for the ECM, when i pull out the 305 TBI i should remove the factory harness right? any benefits to leaving it in there? its an 89, so do I need any wiring for my guages or VSS or whatever?
Im a bit confused about the converter lockup. the commander cant control it, but is my ALDL paperclip lockup switch still goina work without the 305's old ECM? I have a feeling not.
I was thinking a HOBBS Switch, that sends 12V at a certain vacuum to my purple lockup wire. that way when i was on the highway or around town at over 10" or so, it would lockup. should work right?
Is my brake / converter un-lock switch still goina work without the ECM?
Im keeping the serpentine pullies and belt, but I dont know if ill need any special pullies for my pre-80's motor. the pullies are coming off the 305 89' TBI, can i just swap them over? I have perf. RPM heads, so i think the necesary holes are there...
Also will my factory 305 TBI distributor work with this new TPI harness i have? Same thing for CC timing?
Ive got more but thats it for now!

Right! anyways uh...
the motor is in, and im beginning the wiring process.
my main concern is the ignition wiring right now.
My distributor has 2 plug holes, my coil has 2 plug holes.
I know one of those plug holes goes from coil to distrib.
that leaves a plug hole in the dist, and a plug hole in the coil.
one of them gets the plug from the commander 950.
where does the remaining plug go?

got it figured out, thanks.
Now my problem is with the transmission. I want to wire up a lockup switch, and i did some searching it appears i need to wire the tan wire to a switched ground. there are 5 wires coming out of the tranny however, i see the tan one, but what do the other 4 do? I know one has to be positive but which?
also the A/C compressor... thats just a simple 12V / G wire up right?

Can't help, but quick question, what did the Commander 950 and harness set you back? And where did you get it?
