question
I have an 88 iroc 350 tpi and on my air box on the right side of the snorkel there is a little plug kind of thing, is there supposed to be a wire going to this or is this a sensor or what?

That sealed hole is used for the IAT sensor on V6 cars.
It is a perfect place to relocate the sensor from underneath your hot plenum to the air box where they should have put it in the first place! More accurate readings of actual incoming air, not because the sensor is heat soaked from the manifold!
Why GM did this on V6 cars but no the TPIs, I'll never know.
This requires you to remove the plenum, no big deal. Perfect time to have it ported and do a AFPR while your at it.
Worthwhile mod I think, though I did those three mods at once and have no dyno figures or anything, just accurate readings for the ECM. Maybe someone else here has? I think LT1s gain about 3-4 rwhp.
I drilled mine out and bought an LT1 IAT relocation kit from Howell industries, but I am now wondering if the V6 harness would be the same? Damn! That would of been cheaper from GM I'll bet or even at the scrap yard. I'll check that out.
